Topical Ozone
Although ozone gas can not be inhaled, there are many other forms of administration other than autohemotherapy. Often these topical applications are used in patients who can not tolerate intravenous ozone, or to target a specific tissue such as the colon. Naturopathic doctors of the Nardella clinic in Calgary use the following forms of topical ozone which are effective delivery mechanisms for this healing treatment.
Rectal Insufflation
Ozone gas can be directly delivered to the colon through the rectum following a colonic hydrotherapy treatment. This is beneficial in cases of intestinal inflammation, ulcers, bleeding, and infection. Inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s and colitis) can be treated to help both to stop bleeding and to heal the ulcers.
Ozone Water
Ozone gas dissolved into water can be drank over a period of time to help with mouth, throat and GI issues. Ozone water can also be applied topically to wounds.
Ozone Bagging
A limb is inserted into an enclosed bag full of ozone. Topical application of ozone is used to treat rashes, warts, ulcers, and wounds.
Vaginal Insufflation
Ozone gas is directly delivered locally for the treatment of cervical dysplasia, bacterial vaginosis and yeast infections.
Auricular Insufflation
Ozone gas is administered directly to the ear canal to help with infections and tinnitus.
