EPISEEK™ Multi-Cancer Blood Test

What is EPISEEK™?

EPISEEK™ is a liquid biopsy test offered at Nardella Clinic in partnership with Precision Epigenomics. This innovative test detects circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA)—small fragments of DNA released by tumors into the bloodstream. By analyzing unique DNA methylation markers, EPISEEK™ provides a powerful tool for detecting cancer through a simple blood draw.

Cancers Detected by EPISEEK™

The test has demonstrated ability to detect over 60 cancer types, including:

  • Common cancers: breast, lung, prostate, colorectal
  • Aggressive cancers: pancreatic, liver, brain glioma
  • Women’s health cancers: ovarian, cervical, uterine
  • Other cancers: bladder, kidney, esophageal, thyroid, melanoma, lymphoma, multiple myeloma

Note: EPISEEK™ may have lower sensitivity for early-stage cancers and is not a substitute for standard screening exams such as colonoscopy, mammogram, Pap smear, or low-dose CT.

Clinical Validation & Accuracy

  • Tested on 281 cancer patients + 201 controls
  • Overall sensitivity: 54% at 99.5% specificity
  • Stage I–II sensitivity: 45%
  • Stage III sensitivity: 60%
  • Stage IV sensitivity: 74%
  • PPV: 65% | NPV: 99.5%

Who Should Consider Testing?

EPISEEK™ may be right for you if you are:

  • Age 45+, even without symptoms
  • Someone with increased risk of cancer (family history, environmental exposures, lifestyle factors)

EPISEEK™ is not recommended for:

  • Pregnant individuals
  • People under 21
  • Patients already undergoing cancer treatment or with an active cancer diagnosis

Key Considerations:

  • Not a genetic risk test: It does not predict your future risk of cancer.
  • False positives and negatives are possible: All results should be discussed with your healthcare provider.
  • Best used as an adjunct tool: Continue guideline-based cancer screenings.

When Should I Take It?

Annual health exams may be a suitable time for EPISEEK™ testing. The optimal frequency should be discussed at your next visit, as there are currently no official guideline intervals for liquid biopsy cancer screening.
