A female in her 50s came to the clinic with a history of chronic viral infections. She had undergone numerous naturopathic treatments in the past including colonics, IV vitamins, and diet therapy. Although she did benefit from some of the treatments she felt like she had never got to the underlying cause. When her lab testing revealed elevated antibodies for multiple viruses it explained why the patient was still suffering from fatigue, allergies and a weakened immune system.
Ozone therapy combined with Ultraviolet Blood Irradiation (UVBI) was recommended for the patient. This treatment was chosen due to its ability to both kill infections and help to support the immune system. Since the patient also suffered from dysbiosis and candida due to years of immune suppression it was also recommended she received ozone therapy via rectal insufflation. This method of ozone delivery is done following a colonic hydrotherapy treatment and delivers ozone directly to the colon.
Ozone with UVBI is administered using a method called Major Autohemotherapy. A small amount of the patient’s blood is drawn and mixed with ozone. The ozonated blood is then passed by ultraviolet lights and returned to the patient through an IV. IV glutathione was also given in-between major autohemotherapy treatments to help detoxify as the viruses are being killed.
After 2 colonics treatments with ozone and 4 major autohemotherapy treatments the patient reported feeling significantly better. Her allergies were under control for the first time in years and her energy was back. She was sleeping better and the patient reported a feeling of overall well being. She did still have some digestive and yeast issues so it was recommended that the patient continue colonics and follow a candida diet while taking high dose probiotics and antifungal herbs. The patient will continue to do IV ozone and UVBI treatments every few months to maintain the benefit she gained.
