I enjoy providing my patients with leading edge facial shaping, lip enhancement and wrinkle reduction services. We have wonderful technology, products and Patient Care Managers that help provide these services. Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are one of the best options for patients. A complete facial reshaping can be accomplished in just one hour with immediate results. (At the Nardella Clinic dermal fillers are a doctor provided service.)
What is a filler?
A dermal filler is a bio-compatible product that is injected into the skin to effectively ‘fill-in’ a wrinkle or fold, making the patient look younger. There are permanent and semi-permanent fillers available, but the most trusted products are those that are temporary, and are absorbed harmlessly by the body over a matter of months or sometimes years.
What does a filler do?
A dermal filler works by eliminating the wrinkle or fold in the face by raising the skin in that area, so that the wrinkle or fold is no longer visible. There are different products used to achieve this, but they all work by acting as a support structure to replenish the elasticity that is lost as we age. Of particular interest are hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal fillers. HA is found in the joints and in the skin, it is the substance that makes skin look young and supple.
HA dermal fillers are made from non-animal sources and because the HA is cross-linked, the body cannot break it down quickly and therefore it is a good ‘filler’ material for augmenting the wrinkles and folds. The added bonus of HA fillers is that they draw water from the rest of the body to the augmentation site, making the skin look refreshed and younger looking.
What are the results of treatment?
The results are immediate and long lasting. For example, smokers lines and crows feet around the eyes can be smoothed away using a HA filler, and deep nasolabial folds can be completely smoothed out making a person look at least 10 years younger. Other procedures such as increasing the volume of the lips or defining the border of the lips can make them look more plump and sensual.
Some modern fillers can be used to give augmentation where there was little or no volume such as in the cheeks, jowels or the chin area. In addition these ‘contouring’ dermal fillers can even be used to define cheek bones giving results like you would achieve with a mini face-lift.
The Clinic uses fillers with the highest concentration of hyaluronic acid available to patients. The Revanesse family of dermal fillers ranks ahead of well known brands names such as Juvaderm and Restylane in its state-of-the-art use of HA.
Thanks to Revanesse innovation, HA can now be used as an optimum prevention and restorative treatment for aging skin. We can now optimally re-supply the skin with HA with a product called Revanesse Pure. This treatment does not target specific wrinkles, but aims to restore general elasticity and vitality to the skin. As we age, we produce less HA and this results in decreased skin hydration. By replacing the HA, we reverse the impacts of its gradual loss as we age by optimizing skin hydration and health.
